Homes Tasmania and the Tasmanian and Australian governments have a range of assistance options that can make it more affordable to build your new home and as well as making it cheaper to live in.
MyHome
MyHome is Homes Tasmania’s shared equity program that helps you get into your own home sooner because you share the cost of buying your home with Homes Tasmania.
With MyHome you only need a deposit of 2 per cent of the purchase price and assistance includes up to a maximum of $300 000 or 40 per cent (whichever is the lesser amount) of the purchase price of new homes or house and land packages.
You must meet the eligibility criteria for MyHome. This includes having enough income to meet the costs of purchasing and owning a home.
